Because Pilates is a very specific exercise
technique comprised of over 500 exercises and modifications of each one, a
great deal of training is involved in becoming a qualified instructor.
Each of our instructors have completed a comprehensive training program
learning to teach and modify each exercise in proper form to customize it
for the individual needs of each client.
A comprehensive training program involves extensive hours in lectures and
workshops learning safety and form for each exercise on each piece of
equipment.
On top of class time, each student must complete personal practice, student
teaching, observation and assistant teaching hours.
At the end of the minimum of 450 total hours, each student must take a
written and practical test involving Pilates and anatomy to be qualified to
teach at Poise.
We take great pride in the extensive education of all of our staff and
abide by the most stringent requirements.
If you are interested in pursuing Pilates as a career, please call for
information about the comprehensive training programs that we recommend.
